About Us

RAD Camp was created to empower people, shining a light on each as an individual with unique and amazing abilities, regardless of disability, diagnosis or description! In 2014, RAD Camp held it’s first Camp and we never looked back.

Our Story

A group of about 20 people wearing RAD Camp T-shirts smiling with their arms up. They are standing outside with trees in the background.

With over 40 years of joint experience working in the special needs community, Katie Webb Brundige and Meghan Clem knew there could be a place where everyone would feel accepted, people would be acknowledged for the amazing humans that they were, caregivers would get support they so desperately need, and the youth in the community would have a life-changing volunteer experience. RAD Camp was created to accomplish this vision. It’s powered by a passionate, strong volunteer community that truly believes the world needs a little more RAD! We are excited to welcome you into the RAD family and share our passion and purpose with you.

Who We Serve

Serving adults, teens and children, RAD encourages independence, growth, and most importantly fun and friendship. We serve all genders, ethnicities and developmental disabilities including Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome and more!

We strive to offer much-deserved respite to the incredible caregivers of our campers. By providing consecutive days and nights of care to their loved one, accessible programs in the safety of their own home, and access to a wide-array of partners and resources, they can take a break and rest-assured their camper is having the time of their life and getting the very best care.

No matter who you are, or where you are, we would love to welcome you to the RAD Family! We are an all-inclusive community of your biggest fans, greatest supporters and best friends! From camps and club to zooms and social media groups, there are endless ways to connect, join and participate with RAD. Look no further, you have found YOUR people!

Katie Webb Brundige

Co-Founder, Executive Director of Awesome {Programming}

Katie loves cookie dough more than cookies, would wear Lululemon all day, and swears that exercise is therapy (also, shopping!). She believes in dreaming big, working hard and making the impossible, reality! Katie received her degree in Hospitality, Event and Tourism Management from San Diego State University. Alongside Meghan, she owns and operates Intertwined, a successful events and social media company. She began working with people with special needs as a volunteer and now has more than 20 years of experience in the field. Her passion for those with awesome abilities has led her to the loves of her life: RAD Camp and all those it serves, her husband, a fellow RAD Volunteer, and their adopted son who has special needs.

Meghan “Megz” Clem

Co-Founder, Executive Director of Awesome {Development}

Your biggest fan and our biggest motivator, Megz is always a bit too loud, a lot-bit energetic and just the right amount of cool! She tells everyone they “rock” because, obviously, they do! She believes in the power of spreadsheets, knowing (and shouting) your worth and that she was secretly meant to be a free safety for the USC Trojans football team! She has been working in the special needs community for nearly 25 years as a Volunteer, Communications Director and Fundraiser. She received her degree in Public Relations from, you guessed it, USC! After meeting Katie in high school while volunteering, the friendship turned into a lifelong partnership where they have developed successful businesses and founded RAD to give back to the community they cherish! Meghan and her husband stay busy chasing around their twin boys and little girl!

Lauren Chong Moore

Program Manager of Magic

Lauren is a huge believer in kindness, to-do lists, stretching and essential oils! She looks like Boo from Monster’s Inc and organizes like Marie Kondo! She is a professionally trained dancer and choreographer, with a degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from Pepperdine University. She began volunteering with RAD in high school and made her return to Camp, following her heart’s calling to make a bigger impact in the community! She manages programs and events, supports communication and development and handles all community outreach for RAD. When she’s not making magic happen for RAD, she is a certified Yoga instructor getting her zen on with her amazing husband and adopted pup!

Clarice Torrey, OTR/L

Community and Product Manager of Magic

Clarice received her Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from California State University Dominguez Hills. As an occupational therapist, she is dedicated to helping people participate in activities that matter most to them and helping them lead happier, healthier lives. Clarice was inspired to become an OT because of her experience volunteering with people who have disabilities, and has been practicing OT since 2003. She has experience working with children and adults across the lifespan. In 2019, she transitioned to a role as clinical manager for a rehabilitation technology company to make a bigger impact on health. She is passionate about inclusion, accessibility, and disability advocacy. Clarice has been volunteering with RAD Camp since its inception, and became the Community and Product Manager for RAD Club in 2021. Clarice resides in San Francisco and enjoys yoga, crafting, and riding her bike around the city.

Carly Laines & Autumn Trail

Content Creators of Cool

Always keeping it creative, adaptable and accessible, Carly and Autumn are the coolest content creators in town. These two besties have been keeping it real with RAD for more than a decade as volunteer Team Leaders and now the Lead Content Creators for Camp and Club programs. Their families all participate as well – at every level – from counselors and campers to Kitchen Angels and Sponsors! Both completed their undergraduate at Cal State University Long Beach in Child Development and Liberal Arts. They both hold Masters in Education and Education Specialist Credentials from UC Santa Barbara and are working as Moderate/Severe Special Education Teachers at local high schools in Orange County. When not enriching teens and the RAD Camp family, they can be found working it out at Orange Theory, running all the miles for #Run4RAD, working on their new venture, or just (finally) relaxing at the beach!
